  1. Where is the Academy located?
    • 2620 Eglinton Ave E, Unit #302

  2. Is the Acorn Drivers Academy approved?
    • Yes, and it is also a MTO ‘Approved BDE Course provider
  3. What is the difference between G1, G2, G license?
    • G1 is the written exam
    • G2 is the first road test, not including highway
    • G is the final exam which includes the highway and the G2 road test.
  4. Can I get a discount on my insurance?
    • There a lot of ways to get a discount on your insurance, please contact us for more information regarding this, and we’ll be able to help.
    • Here are a few to point out:
      • You are a new Drivers Education graduate with certificate
      • You have a clean driving record
      • You are 65 and older
      • You live around an area where driving isn’t a necessity
  5. Where do I write my test?
    • All tests start from the main Drive Test facility. They have locations in:
      • Port Union
      • Mississauga
      • Scarborough
    • We also provide pick-up and drop-off services for any G2 or G tests.
  6. How do I sign up for a road test?
    • We can do this for you, however if you insist, please give us a call and we’ll gladly point you in the right direction.
  7. Do I need insurance before I register for the course?
    • No, each instructor has an extended business insurance for their vehicles to insure the new driver also.
  8. Are there any requirements for the driver’s education program?
    • No requirements. Everyone is eligible to take it. We highly recommend this for new Students who have never driven before or for anyone who has come from a foreign country.
  9. What if I miss a lesson?
    • Please let us know at least a few hours ahead for In-Car lessons and at least 24 hours before a test.
    • If you have missed an in-car lesson, and weren’t able let us know a head of time. Don’t worry, we can reschedule with at no additional costs.
    • If you have missed an road test, we will try to get you a refund on the test deposit. Worst case scenario: we’ll reschedule the test for you as soon as possible.
